API Auto-Sign

On this page

Auto-signing refers to the automatic completion of document signing by enterprises through the Nota Sign API, without the need for manual intervention. It is suitable for system integration scenarios, such as automatically triggering stamping after an approval process is completed.

I. Prerequisites

Enterprises can configure auto-signing workflows via API, provided the following conditions are met:

* The signing method must be set to “Auto-sign”;
* The recipient must be designated as the Super Admin email account corresponding to the current AppID;
* In addition, the Super Admin email account must have the “Auto-sign” permission pre-enabled offline. Please consult your sales representative for details on how to enable this permission.

Note: This feature only supports Electronic Signatures and does not apply to FDA envelopes.

II. Configuring Controls Required for Auto-signing

1. Configuring Signing Controls

When configuring signing controls, set the corresponding parameters according to the required signing form (signature or seal):

* If using a signature control, the system will automatically capture the recipient’s name to generate an auto-signature after it is added;
* If using a seal control, a unique and authorized seal ID must be explicitly specified.
2. Configuring Fill-in Controls

If a document contains a “Fill-in Control” designated as required, the fill-in value must be pre-populated when initiating the envelope.

III. Sending an Auto-sign Envelope

After the envelope is successfully sent and passes all validations, the system will execute the following process:

* Automatic Execution: The system recognizes auto-signing and, after validation passes, immediately executes the auto-signing action.
* Notification Sending: After the envelope signing is completed, the system sends an auto-signing email notification.
